The CEO Commission has officially released its first-ever Policy Manual, outlining a comprehensive agenda to advance disability employment across the nation. At the heart of this agenda are three guiding principles that shape every policy priority and advocacy effort:
- We believe all workers benefit from an inclusive workplace. Therefore, we work to advance public policy to educate, encourage, and assist employers to hire workers with disabilities, including through financial incentives.
- All people deserve to earn a living and advance in their career and all employers benefit when they can tap into the full talent pool. Therefore, we promote policies that increase competitive, integrated employment for workers with disabilities, ensure access to accommodations and supports, remove barriers to work, promote entrepreneurship, and empower employers to hire, retain, and promote workers with disabilities.
- Workers with disabilities have a right to make their own life choices and obtain financial independence, and employers play a key role in achieving this. Therefore, we advocate for policies that help employers invest in their workforce and encourage savings, financial security, and self-determination for people with disabilities and their families.
